David Duchovny

David Duchovny

David William Duchovny 1960. augusztus 7-én született New Yorkban. Édesanyja, Margaret Miller iskolai tanár, édesapja, Amram Ducovny, író és publicista. Ereiben orosz és skót vér csörgedezik. Két testvére van, Daniel, aki szintén színész, és Laurie, aki anyja nyomdokaiba lépve tanár lett. Kisgyerekként régész akart lenni, de elég korán belecsöppent a színészetbe. Tizenegy évesen játszott először az iskolai színjátszó körben. Egyetemi végzettséget a Yale-en szerzett, szakdolgozatát a "Mágia és technológia a kortárs költészetben és prózában" címmel írta. New Yorkba már színészi ambíciókat dédelgetve költözött vissza. Egy ideig kocsmában dolgozott, hogy színészi tanulmányit finanszírozni tudja. Első komolyabb szerepét a Twin Peaks című kultikus sorozatban kapta. Karrierjében az áttörést az 1993-ban induló, hatalmas népszerűségnek örvendő a X-akták című sorozat főszerepe jelentette. A sorozatból mozifilm is készült X-akták - Szállj harcba a jövő ellen (1998) és X-akták: Hinni akarok (2008) címmel. 2001-ben a hetedik évad után kifogásolta a szerződését, majd otthagyta a sorozatot, melynek a világhírevet köszönhette. 2000-ben főszerepet játszott a Szívedbe zárva (2000) című romantikus vígjátékban, melyet a 2001-es Ben Stiller vígjáték, a Zoolander, a trendkívüli (2001) követett. Még ugyanebben az évben főszerepet kapott az Evolúcióban (2001), melyben Sean William Scott oldalán láthattuk. 2003-ban feltűnt a Szex és New Yorkban, melyben Carrie Bradshaw középiskolai ex-barátját alakította. Rendezőként 2005-ben a Így nőttem fel című filmjével debütált a filmvásznon, melyben olyan színészek kaptak szerepet, mint Anton Yelchin, Robin Williams valamint Duchovny felesége, Tea Leoni. Ezt követően vendégszerepelt a Dr. Csont című sorozat egy epizódjában is. 2014-ben ért véget a Californication című sorozat, mely hét évadot ért meg. A szériában a főszereplő bohém írót, Hank Moodyt játszotta, alakításáért 2007-ben Golden Globe-díjat nyert. 2012-ben a Goats (2012) című vígjátékban játszott főszerepet, majd még ugyanebben az évben a Phantomban (2013) is főszerepben láthattuk olyan színészek mellett, mint Ed Harris vagy Sean Patrick Flanery. 2013-ban forgatta le a Erősebb a szavaknál (2013) című komédiáját, amely várhatóan 2015-ben kerül a mozikba. 2014-ben hétévnyi házasság után elvált Tea Leoni színésznőtől, akitől két gyermeke született.
